Q: Tell me about High Definition.
A: All Northeast Horizons productions are taped in the high-resolution format of HD (High Definition). Even if you do not own an HDTV right now, chance are, one day you will, and probably sooner than you might believe. In the next 2 years, HDTV’s will be the standard sold in all major electronics and appliance stores. Your entire production will be 100% HD, from camera, to edit, to delivery. We will shoot in full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080, 24 fps), edit in HD, and deliver several Blu-Ray discs to you, as well as delivering your product on standard DVD also. Even if you do not have the HD capabilities today, the fact that your wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime event, the decision to capture that day in HD is a decision that cannot be taken lightly, as the beauty and detail of HDTV will enable you to show a version of your wedding video in a way not available by most other wedding videographers today.
Q: How much control do we have over the final look of the video ?
The real answer is you have as much control as you want, even down to we can quote pricing into you package where you can come sit in our editing suite with us, and be the director. BUT......before you make the decision on how hands on you would like to be in your project, ask yourself this, "Do I really want to get bogged down into little details of my wedding video?" When you hire us to take care of your wedding film, we assume you do that because you like our style, you have met or talked with us, and you trust us with our professional knowledge to create a beautiful piece for you, without bogging you down with issues that you should not be concerned with. Think about it this way.....are you going to call your catering hall and tell them how to cook the chicken, or fold the napkins? No, you probably will not. You trust them to do what they do. This is the best way to deal with us, and probably most of your vendors. Find people and companies you trust, then go ahead and enjoy your day. Hopefully, this is your one and only wedding you will have to plan in your life, but remember, we do hundreds of them. This is our life, and you are in good hands. Little do you know, you have extreme control over your final product, and more than you might realize. On your wedding day, your girls will have beautiful dresses picked out by you. You will have flowers and a color scheme that will tie the day together. You will choose music and entertainment with your band/DJ. All these details add up to a flavor and style that becomes your own, and your wedding video will reflect this. We use music suggestions you give us, along with color palettes and moods that comes through on your wedding day to help us shape your final product.
Q: Are you available for weddings outside of the tri-state region?
A: Absolutely! We always love the opportunity to travel and our services are available worldwide. Let us know where you are going, and we will figure out a package that works for you!!
Q: How long will my video be?
A: Northeast Horizons has a somewhat unique way of delivering your final video is highly edited, with music, credits, special effects, slo-motion, and other extras that are associated with high quality productions, and will generally run about 45 - 60 minutes. This is the wedding video you have been waiting for, and you will show to everyone without having to ever hit the fast forward button. Its a beautiful cinematic piece that is highly entertaining, and never becomes boring. Longer versions can also be made available, just let us know what you want.
Q: When will I receive the final product?
A: Before any editing can begin on your final product, you have to make sure that Northeast Horizons is provided everything that is needed from you, such as baby pictures and special song requests. This should be taken care of before your wedding, so that you have nothing to worry about except having a good time! The highly edited style of our productions do not enable us to give an exact date your tapes can be delivered to you, but 6-8 months is a good estimate.
Q: Do we need to meet with you in person?
A: While it is not necessary to meet in person, we always prefer it whenever possible. The personality of your videographer plays such a large part in the entire video experience. It is always a good idea to make sure you like who your videographer is and not just what they do.
Q: Is it possible to meet closer to where we live?
A: If at all possible, it is always better to meet with us in our studio so that we can access plenty more videos that we can share. If you would like to see a full wedding or more of a certain style, it is very easy for us to pull something up right away. We also realize that the travel to our offices is not always possible and in that case, we will try to schedule something closer to where you live.
Q: What if things run late on the day?
A: If you’d like us to stay later than what is included in your package, you can always request it.
Q: What happens to the files after the wedding?
A: All raw video footage is stored indefinitely and copies of your video are stored on both DVD and hard drives. Any video created from the 2006 season on is also stored in HD on Blu-ray Discs.
Q: How should we choose the music for our video?
A: You’re welcome to either tell us what style of music you like, or provide us with a list of specific songs. If you give us a list, be sure to give us more than enough, around 15 to 20 songs, so that we can choose those that fit the footage best. Unless your song requests are very old or rare, you won’t have to provide the actual music. Some of our best work has come when couples have left the music selection up to us (specifically the highlights montages).
Q: Do you include the raw footage?
A: Yes....currently all of our packages include the RAW footage on SD-DVD. The footage can also be made available in HD.
